Wesleyan College invites applications for a full time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Biology, with teaching duties starting August 1, 2025. Qualifications include a Ph.D. in the biological sciences, excellent communication skills, and a history of strong commitment to undergraduate instruction and research. The successful candidate will have experience with courses that support the Biology major, especially animal physiology, vertebrate zoology, and human anatomy and physiology. The candidate will also participate in teaching introductory biology courses. Candidates who have experience working with undergraduates using innovative course delivery methods are highly desired. Candidates who can support an interdisciplinary major in Neuroscience or Environmental Science will be considered positively. Wesleyan seeks faculty committed to helping students Find Their Voice in an interdependent world; significant preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated excellence in, and enthusiasm for, teaching biology to diverse populations of students. This position requires a professional who is eager to take a leading role in promoting and guiding student research, advising students, and participating in Natural Science and Mathematics Division activities. All full-time faculty at Wesleyan College are expected to engage in scholarship and service to the college. Faculty rank and time towards tenure are negotiable for exceptional candidates. ABD candidates will be considered.
